Trade alert: wine auction
The second annual Willamette auction returns on March 31 and April 1, drawing trade buyers from around the country and the world to the home of new world Pinot noir. All wines are from the much-anticipated 2015 vintage and are unique, inimitable Pinot noirs crafted specially for this auction held at the Allison Inn & Spa, Newberg, Oregon.
“In truth, there is no other auction source in the world for the most sought-after bottlings of Pinot noir, outside of Burgundy’s Hospice de Beaune, than the Willamette Pinot Noir Barrel Auction,” said Josh Bergström, auction steering committee founding chairman.
Willamette Valley was named 2016 Wine Region of the Year by Wine Enthusiast for their esteemed Wine Star Awards. David Adelsheim accepted the award on behalf of the region at a ceremony in Miami on January 30.
